“Another winter day at Top of the Notch did not disappoint. We enjoyed lunch in between runs on the mountain - Two Bacon Blue Cheeseburgers with Fry Baskets and two Fire Break Irish Reds! The service was outstanding, the restaurant was cozy and clean and the views were, of course, AMAZING.”
“Best kept secret in LA. Went hiking on a Friday morning up the Mt Baldy trailhead, hung around until Top of the Notch opened for lunch and had beer and fries overlooking the valley. It was gorgeous, tasty, and easy parking because it was a Friday. The staff were super friendly.”
“The true beauty of altitude is attitude and with the family of Mt Baldy it’s inspiring. A 17 minute ride takes you from 6400 ft to 7800ft with great food and views from Catalina to the lower Sierra’s to Mt Charleston above Vegas. Winter or Summer find a better attitude with some altitude!”
“I love bringing friends up to our local mountains for hiking & enjoying nature! Top of the Notch is a favorite place to rest & refresh while exploring the Mt Baldy area! We love riding the ski lifts down after a challenging hike to one of the many peaks we have just conquered!”
“2026 Mt Baldy Moonlight Hikes. One of the best hikes I’ve done. Music at the top with a beer was the best. Everyone all ages happy and dancing to the music definitely a must while in So Cal.”

“The ski lift ride was peaceful and lovely, and the vistas from the top were spectacular! We could see to the ocean as well as out over the desert. At the restaurant we ordered a burger and a salad. Although the food is simple, both meals were fresh and delicious.”

“The moon light hikes are the best. You hike up to the ski resort, dance to live music, eat, and hike back down to your car ecstatic because you had such a great experience which is hard to duplicate anywhere else. The atmosphere and kindness of the staff is one of a kind.”

“Great service and ambiance at the notch! They have beer, spirits and diverse menu for bar food. Great panoramic views of the mountain. They have a merch store too at the notch for sweaters, hats and shirts. Overall great vibes and great staff!”
“Best burger on the mountain. Great taste and a nice size. Good meal after a long hike. The staff is very relaxed and easy to talk to. Very chill spot. Seating is great either school style tables, outdoor picnic tables or window seating. Great ambiance.”
“Surprisingly good food considering you are a captive audience at the top of the mountain. Hot Cocoa for the kids which is awesome after a long day in the snow and a cold beer for the adults which is also pretty awesome. Extremely fast service.”
